Xperience Group nominated Sands UK as the chosen charity for 2018. This month the company supports the charity’s campaign #FindingtheWords calling on everyone to help break the silence around stillbirth and neonatal death.
In June, Xperience Group is running a series of fundraising initiatives to support Sands. From a World Cup Sweepstake to a dress down day, all activities aim to help improve the care bereaved parents receive and promote research to reduce the loss of babies’ lives.
The Group have raised £873 so far completing Belfast City Marathon on 7th May 2018. With thousands of supporters lining the streets to cheer them on and motivated by the cause, some complete non-runners from the Group pushed the boundaries to finish the marathon and help improve care for anyone affected by the death of a baby.
Sylwia Lysakowska, Marketing Executive at Xperience Group commented,” Every day in the UK around 15 babies die before, during or soon after birth. That means every 90 minutes a family is faced with the devastation of the death of their baby. Yet, stillbirth remains taboo and is rarely spoken about. As a Group we want to help Sands make a difference to many thousands people who have been affected by infant loss.”
Finding the Words campaign aims to encourage everyone to sensitively start a conversation with someone whose baby has died, however long ago. Talking about the death of a baby can feel very difficult but finding the right words at the right time can really help to support bereaved parents or families when they need it most. The charity produced a short vide on how to start the conversation here >>>
Sands exists to support anyone affected by the death of a baby, to improve the bereavement care received by parents and families, and to influence policy makers and promote research to reduce the number of babies dying.
