Xperience Group raised over £1080 from a series of fundraising events, including Belfast Marathon, World Cup Sweepstake and dress-down day in aid of Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity.
World Cup Sweepstake, dress-down day, heatwave and ice cream. June, Sands Awareness Month, has had it all, and the Group had an amazing month fundraising for the charity. Mr Whippy has made an appearance as well with an exciting #XperienceMrWhippyTour treating staff and customers to some well-deserved frozen treats, during the dress down day on Friday 29th June. While we still await to find the winner of the sweepstake, all the funds have been added up, bringing an amazing total to over £1080.
Sylwia Lysakowska, Marketing Executive at Xperience Group commented, “We are glad to be able to raise awareness of such a great charity. Talking about the death of a baby can feel very difficult but it’s important to end the silence surrounding the taboo of stillbirth and losing a child. We hope that our activities can make a difference and we can help those affected by the death of a baby.”
No one grieving after the death of their baby should have to do so in isolation. Therefore, Sands has produced a short video encouraging everyone to sensitively start a conversation someone whose baby has died, however long ago. This is also useful for employers and HR professionals to find out how to support bereaved parents at work.
Sands exists to support anyone affected by the death of a baby, to improve the bereavement care received by parents and families, and to influence policy makers and promote research to reduce the number of babies dying.
