Sage 200 2010 End of Life Announced

Published: 6 July 2016

On 31st October 2016 Sage 200 2010 will reach End of Life, leaving businesses using it exposed to a high number of vulnerabilities and potential compliance issues. Customers are advised to upgrade to the latest release to prevent security threats and software defects that could jeopardise business performance.

The Sage End of Life policy means effective from 31st October 2016 Sage will no longer deliver critical security updates and patches for the Sage 200 2010 release. This could exposes businesses using this software to harmful viruses, spyware and other malicious software which can steal or damage data. Added to this, with no legislation updates, the software will no longer be up-to-date with changes in government legislation, consequently leaving businesses unable to satisfy compliance requirements.

While Sage 200 2010 will continue to work after 31st October, Sage will withdraw technical support via telephone or Incident Manager. Sage Partners may continue to support customers using v2010, however they will be unable to resolve bugs and software defects not already addressed by Sage. As a result, the cost of maintaining the software is likely to rise.

In order to reduce business risk and ensure compliance users of Sage 200 2010 should make plans to move to a supported version. Newer releases of Sage 200 offer a variety of favourable and affordable upgrade options, including subscription payment models and different deployment options, such as cloud and on-premise. An added incentive to move, the newly released Sage 200 2016 introduces new features that help users to improve cash flow and get paid faster, addressing late payment issue that affect 68 per cent of companies.
