This week, Xperience have raised a staggering £456.33 for the BBC charity, Children in Need, doubling 2011’s totals. With a weeklong bake sale, raffle and ‘wear-fancy-dress-to-work’ day, the whole office really rallied together for the children’s charity.
The recession has had notable impact across the UK and a quarter of all UK charities reported a decrease in their fundraising income since the downturn (UK Charities Commission). To help Children in Need buck the downward trend, Xperience Group supported Children in Need with a week jam packed with fundraising events in order to exceed all previous totals
Managing Director of Xperience Group, Mike Ramsay, commented “Xperience Group really wanted to make a difference, so this year we decided to hold a week full of activities, aiming to raise more than previous years. The efforts put in by the staff were exceptional and we managed to double last year’s total – a great result all round.”
The main event of the week was Fancy Dress Friday, rounding off a week full of charitable activities. The theme was as Children’s Characters; with Xperience Employees having to pay a £10 forfeit, if they didn’t come to work in fancy dress! Other activities included a pay as you play gaming lunch break, and bake sale – with staff baking everything from Pudsey cookies, to pizza for the children’s charity.
Special thanks to the following local businesses for donating raffle prizes: Halo Nightclub and Bar, Peterborough Holiday Inn – West, The Moorhen (Marston’s Restaurant), Mind of Design, Maharanis and Willow Road Garage in Yaxley.
